API and platform interfaces

APIs are the control plane for products, integrations, automation, and AI tools. Assistance helps teams design and operate APIs with contracts, authentication, authorization, rate limits, observability, lifecycle rules, and support workflows.

What Assistance operates#

Within scope, Assistance can operate API architecture, gateway and routing patterns, contract review, auth and rate-limit design, telemetry, error catalogues, integration sandboxes, runbooks, and incident/change support.

What the customer owns#

The customer owns product semantics, business approvals, user permissions, data classification, provider billing, partner relationships, and public/customer communications unless explicitly contracted.

Core guides#

Operational baseline#

AreaRequirement
ContractOpenAPI or equivalent schema with examples and compatibility rules.
AccessAuthN/AuthZ scopes for users, services, partners, automation, and agents.
ReliabilityTimeouts, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and dependency isolation.
ObservabilityRequest IDs, logs, metrics, traces, audit events, and error catalogues.
LifecycleVersioning, deprecation policy, changelog, and migration support.

Onboarding inputs#

Provide consumer types, current endpoints, auth model, provider constraints, traffic and latency targets, integration partners, data classifications, error history, and support expectations.
